Jim Steinman wrote Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through specifically for Meat Loaf, but ended up recording it himself for his Bad For Good solo album. Meat's version didn't arrive until the Bat Out Of Hell 2 album but became a hit single in early 1994. It has always been one of his most moving songs, talking about the deep redemptive power of love as expressed through rock and roll. I fired the lyrics at Steve and Sharon, telling them who wrote them. Who would have guessed they'd be so enthusiastic about the song?
